The mission of the Kirkwood Town Board and Youth Sports and Recreation Program is to provide a safe, social environment free of charge to all residents living within the Town of Kirkwood. The Town feels that all the youth in the Town have the right to enjoy youth programming and activities. Any Town of Kirkwood resident may compete in youth sports free of charge, and all surrounding communities are also welcome, for a small fee that may vary depending on the sport. Questions of eligibility, programming details, and cost may be directed to the Youth Sports & Recreation Supervisor listed above.

SPRING SPORTS REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED AND ALL TEAMS HAVE BEEN ROSTERED.

Baseball games will be played on weeknights and some Saturdays. Teams will typically begin practice in April with games usually starting the last week of April or first week of May. Practices and home games are played at River Park or Valley Park. Away games are played at Schnurbush Park in Conklin or Jackson Pond Park in the Town of Binghamton.

8U Softball & Baseball Summer All-Star Tournament Team

10U Softball & Baseball Summer All-Star Tournament Team

12U Softball & Baseball Summer All-Star Tournament Team

All-Star Teams are formed based on the available numbers, proactiveness of volunteer coaches, and the desire by players and parents to field competitive teams. Reach out to the Youth Recreation Supervisor if a Team is desired to be formed and put together.

All-Star Team Rosters are formed purely by recommendation in collaboration with the Youth Recreation Supervisor and the regular season Head Coaches of the age eligible players for each All-Star age level. Tryouts will no longer be held - it is our belief that a singular tryout may not accurately portray a players capability and that a more aggregate season-long view is most representative and appropriate. The Teams formed will compete in 1 to 3 local All-Star Tournaments in the June/July timeframe while periodically holding practices. If numbers and interest allow, multiple teams at an age level may be formed and can enter tournaments in A, B, or C divisions.

* A Summer Soccer Camp is planned to be held in mid-July at River Park. Details and Registration Sign-ups will be available as it gets closer.

U9 Coed Recreational Soccer (Ages 7-9) - 10 Games + Playoffs

U12 Coed Recreational Soccer (Ages 10-12) - 10 Games + Playoffs

Soccer games will be played on weeknights and some Saturdays. Teams will begin practice in August prior to school starting with games to start shortly after the school year begins. Practices and home games are played at River Park. U12 games are 100% played under the lights!

Competitive Outdoor Soccer Teams (U8/U10/U12 Boys/Girls)

The Town of Kirkwood will support any age division and girls or boys team who has the numbers and desire to compete in the Broome County Soccer Association Fall League. The season is typically 8 games with 4 home and 4 away. Games are on Saturdays and Sundays, with away games that could be somewhat local, but as far away as Corning, Ithaca, Cortland, or Oneonta. This season would line up in parallel and be in addition to the standard recreational Soccer League above.

K-2 Instructional Basketball (Coed)

3rd/4th Grade Boys & Girls Recreational Basketball

5th/6th Grade Boys & Girls Recreational Basketball

Basketball games and practices will be throughout the week and on Saturdays. Practices will be at the Bell Elementary Gym. Games are played relatively locally with other teams in the league both home and away. There are opportunities to enter more competitive leagues as well at the conclusion of the recreational season, dependent on numbers and desire from players and coaches.

U8 Coed Competitive Indoor Soccer

U10 Boys/Girls Competitive Indoor Soccer

U12 Boys/Girls Competitive Indoor Soccer

The Town of Kirkwood will support any age division and girls or boys team who has the numbers and desire to continue to compete in Soccer Indoors throughout the Winter. The Season is broken into (2) Sessions that are typically 10 Games each, and is played at 434 Sportsplex in Vestal, NY with games on the weekends. Practices are dependent on commitment level of the team and in some cases funding availability.
